Nexus West is a 932 MW potential natural gas-fired generation project in the Caroline area, Alberta, approximately 60 km west of Innisfail and southwest of Red Deer. The project is designed to provide reliable, scalable power for large industrial and data centre development, with up to 600 MW of data centre load over time, with flexible development phases.
Located on Crown land in a proven energy region, Nexus West benefits from multiple gas supply options, proximity to existing infrastructure and a strong regional industrial base. The project is in early development, with a focus on securing key permits, refining design and advancing commercial discussions.
