Nexus East is a 932 MW potential natural gas-fired generation project in Cypress County, Alberta, near the Empress area. The project is designed to provide reliable, scalable power for large industrial and data centre development, with up to 600 MW of data centre load over time, with flexible development phases.
Located in a well-established energy region with major existing gas infrastructure and a strong transmission system, Nexus East benefits from abundant freehold land and a low population density. The project is in early development, with a focus on securing key permits, advancing design and engaging with local communities, Indigenous groups and other stakeholders.
